GES 2016 -2017 Teacher of the Year - Beth Smith

Graceville Elementary School is very proud to announce that Beth Smith has been chosen as this year's Teacher of the Year.  Mrs. Smith is currently in her 21st year as a teacher.  During that time, she taught for 13 years at Cottondale Elementary and, since coming to Graceville Elementary, has taught Second Grade, Fourth Grade, and  currently teaches Third Grade.  In her free time, Mrs. Smith enjoys spending time with her husband, Raymond, and their daughter, Mary Elizabeth, camping, being by the pool, and working in her yard.  When asked about being chosen as Teacher of the Year, she commented, "I feel so very blessed and honored to represent Graceville Elementary School!"

 

Graceville Elementary School Rookie Teacher of the Year - Samantha Matthews

Graceville Elementary School proudly announces this year's Rookie Teacher of the Year is Ms. Samantha Matthews.  Ms. Matthews graduated from Chipola  College where she earned her degree in Science Education.  She came to Graceville Elementary School as a Pre-K assistant, but was promoted to Fifth grade at the beginning of this school year.  When asked about winning the award, Ms. Matthews commented that it is an honor to be chosen and she is "excited to represent my school!"  During her free time, Ms. Matthews enjoys going to Disney and spending time with her family.

 

Graceville Elementary School School-Related Employee of the Year - Lina Henrickson

Graceville Elemetary School is proud to announce that  this year's School-Related Employee of the Year is Graceville's own, Lina Henrickson.  Mrs. Henrickson has been involved in education in Jackson County for nine years, mostly as a bus driver, but, currently, she is involved in a couple more completely different, yet very important, positions.  She begins and ends her day by getting students to and from school by driving a school bus route; in between her bus routes,  she helps prepare and serve breakfast and lunch to the students in the school cafeteria.  Finally, when she isn't on a bus or in the cafeteria, she is helping to keep the school clean as a member of the custodial team.  When asked about being chosen as the School-Related Employee of the Year for Graceville Elementary, Mrs. Henrickson commented that she was "very humbled and honored to receive the award".  She is married to Everett Henrickson and enjoys working, horseback riding and scuba diving.
